Stag Handled Sword HirschfangerStag handled sword with hunting motifs (deer, boar, rabbit, hunting dog) etched in three different scenes on aech side of the blade. I see no maker's mark. There is a small amount of play in the guard/clamshell but i have not tried taking it apart and tightening it up. Teh blade itself is solid. Overall length approx. 23 inches. Never sharpened. This aws in very good condition until the mice got at it. At least that si what i think the stains are from. Note that i could not get these stains off the blade. They seem to have reacted with the metal. I tried soapy water, alcohol, and turpentine with littel to no effect. The stains are worse on the isde with the clamshell. Their visibility/prominence varies with the light, just as they vary in the pictures. Unless you have some secret weapon do not expect to be able ot restore this to anything like original condition. Although my stated poilcy is that i don't accept returns, i will happily refund. Your money if you convince me that i've misrepresented an itme or left. Something improtant out of my description. I try really hard to point out.
