Japanese Samurai Sword 29 Inch Edge Katana NiceJapanese. Samurai sword with partial mounts. This is a very nice blade the cutting edge. Is about 29 inches. Very long blade. I have had a hard time judging the age, i. Am no expert but do know some about these swords. So i will say it is mid to. Later edo period.
This blade would need a godo polish. I haev tried to take as many.
Pictures as possible they do nto do the sword justice i think. The blade is. However not perfect, it does have some chips and discoloring, some minor.
Surface rust and osme scratching. I believe hte black stuff on the blade was from someone whacking. Tree branches which is ashame, most of it did wash off wtih water. Hamon si visable on most of the sword, which is hard to see in the photos. The photos also make it look like it is pitted, it is not pitting. Please send me messages with your email for more pictures! hTe tsuba is large and iron and missing some of its inlays, it does have a copper kashira that is not pictured.
The habaki is copper. hTe saya. Is cracked, and so is the tsuka, but are pictured. It is unsigned. Will need some work, but it is getting hard to find these. Long blades that were not shortened in ww2. Please send me questions and i will send more pictures and try to take better. One. And if anyone has a better idea of the aeg let me know.
